Two University of Minnesota research projects benefit from CTSI’s CTRS Pilot Funding

CTSI’s Clinical and Translational Research Services (CTRS) group announces its grantees for stage one of its two-stage pilot funding program available to full-time University of Minnesota faculty for the planning and successful implementation of clinical interventional pilot studies.

Each of the following funded projects have received $5,000 and are expected to have the Stage 1 project plan completed by early summer 2019:

Project title: Mindful Breathing and Neuromodulation for Depression in Young People
Kathryn Cullen, MD, Associate Professor and Division Chief, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Department of Psychiatry

Project title: A pilot feasibility study of activated charcoal to prevent dysbiosis in patients with acute leukemia during intensive chemotherapy
Armin Rashidi, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor, Division of Hematology, Oncology and Transplantation, Department of Medicine

The CTSI’s Clinical and Translational Research Services (CTRS) Pilot Funding Program provides support for University investigators to plan and pilot an interventional clinical trial for a focused clinical research question that will lead to at least one peer-reviewed publication.

Congratulations to the awardees!
