Scott Horsfall named program director of Biorepository and Laboratory Services

Scott Horsfall, MBA, CT (ASCP), has joined CTSI as the program director for Biorepository and Laboratory Services (BLS), bringing a wealth of experience and expertise in clinical administration and laboratory management. 

As program director for BLS, Horsfall will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure effective, compliant services. BLS helps University of Minnesota researchers make healthcare discoveries by providing high-quality biospecimens as well as histology and digital imaging services.  

For more than a decade, Horsfall worked in various cytology roles at Allina Health, moving up the ranks to cytology manager, where he successfully managed a large, high-complexity laboratory within a busy hospital system. He implemented advanced equipment and technology to enhance services, collaborating with medical professionals and centralizing a complex laboratory across multiple hospital sites.

Horsfall most recently served as director of client services for the University’s Veterinary Medical Center, where he developed, implemented, and oversaw systems to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and optimal service for both UMN and external customers.

Horsfall earned a master's in business administration from Hamline University and a bachelor's in biology from Luther College. He’s a cytotechnologist certified by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology, and has also received certifications in project management, conflict management, and mediation.
