Kate Carosella is a first-year PhD student in the University of Minnesota's Clinical Science and Psychopathology Research Program in the Department of Psychology.

She studies psychosocial and neurological factors that relate to the onset and maintenance of non-suicidal self-injury and suicidality. Her work incorporates measures gathered via self report, salivary cortisol, and magnetic resonance imaging.

She worked as a research assistant at the University of Pittsburgh and received her Bachelors of Science from Johns Hopkins University. She hopes to continue to pursue research on maladaptive stress responses following the attainment of her doctorate.
