Mark R. Schleiss, MD, is the American Legion and Auxiliary Endowed Research Foundation Chair in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the University of Minnesota Medical School.

In 2024, Dr. Schleiss was elected to the Lead Team of the CTSA’s Integration Across the Lifespan Enterprise Committee. He was subsequently selected to co-chair the committee. The national committee ensures translational science is integrated across its multiple phases and disciplines within complex populations’ lifespan.

Dr. Schleiss has research interests in preclinical models of congenital cytomegalovirus, human clinical trials of cytomegalovirus vaccines, maternal and newborn screening, and molecular pathogenesis of infection, with an emphasis on viral immune modulation.
