Kirsten Johansen, MD, is the President of the Hennepin Healthcare Research Institute, Director of Nephrology at Hennepin Healthcare, and a Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota. She is a general nephrologist who specializes in the care of patients with chronic kidney disease and patients receiving home-based or in-center dialysis treatment.
Dr. Johansen’s research focuses on patients with chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease. In particular, she studies the pathogenesis of debility and evaluates therapeutic strategies to improve functional status in patients on dialysis.
