The Youth and Young Adult Advisory Board—comprised of Minnesotans aged 14 to 24—can provide feedback on health-focused research, projects, and initiatives:

Expectations of UMN staff and faculty

When partnering with the Youth and Young Adult Advisory Board, researchers should:

Invite them to participate throughout different stages of project/study.
Clearly communicate project goals, timelines, and engagement needs.
Define clear activities and expectations.
Maintain open communication throughout the collaboration process.
Share how their input is being considered or used throughout the collaboration process.
Recognize youth as experts of youth experiences, valuing and respecting their perspectives and contributions.
Present research study or project concepts in an approachable manner.

An opportunity for Minnesota youth

Youth and Young Adult Advisory Board members have the opportunity to learn more about human health research, build leadership skills, and collaborate with other youth, young adults, and researchers.

1–2 virtual meetings per month.
1–2 in-person networking events per year.
Participation is compensated.
