The annual CTSI Poster Session took place on September 16 and was a festive gathering to honor Scholars, mentors, and community-engaged research grantees from two CTSI offices: the Research Education, Training, and Career Development Core, CTSI-Ed, and the Community Engagement to Advance Research and Community Health core, CEARCH. Scholars from the Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women's Health (BIRCWH), a National Health Institute-funded career development program that connects junior faculty to senior faculty with shared research interest in women's health and sex-differences research, also presented their research.
Faculty, colleagues, mentors, community members, family, and friends joined Scholars and community grantees and heard remarks from Bruce Blazar, MD, Director of CTSI, and David Ingbar, MD, Director of CTSI-Ed. The evening was also an opportunity for University members to connect with community and scientific judges, who assessed posters and presentations and determined the winners of travel awards and Community-Engaged Scholarship Recognition awards. Travel awards provide scholars an opportunity to present CTSI-sponsored research nationally, and Community Recognition awards support furthering presented research.
Based on scientific and community judging, CTSI recognized fourteen CTSI-Ed Scholars, one BIRCWH Scholar, and two CEARCH-supported community grantees with awards for their outstanding work.
