This virtual workshop trains University of Minnesota principal investigators (PIs) on conducting research that involves human participants. It is open to all PI's with research studies overseen by the UMN Institutional Review Board, including University faculty and providers at Gillette, M Health Fairview, and the VA. 

The 90-minute virtual workshop covers:

  • Roles and responsibilities of a PI for a human research study.
  • How to address and prevent common inspection findings. 
  • How to recognize and manage conflicts of interest. 

The course combines an instructional presentation with a case study review and interactive group discussion.

All participants will take an evaluation upon completion of the training. This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit ™. Participants can receive a maximum of 1.75 hours of credits.
